The National Disability Insurance Scheme funds long-term high-quality care and support for people with disabilities in our local community.

Meals on Wheels is part of that, building on our significant history around Narooma, Moruya, and Batemans Bay.

The NDIS represents a significant shift in how people with disabilities manage their lives and how organisations like Meals on Wheels Eurobodalla steps up to meet any need.

Already operating locally, the NDIS strives to build better links between the wider community and people with disabilities, it provides information to people, helps break down stereotypes, and ensures quality and best practice among service providers.

For people with disabilities, choice and control over the supports they receive are central to how the NDIS works, allowing people to live life their way, achieve their goals, and be part of the community.

Meals on Wheels Eurobodalla is meeting that need not only through our famous meal delivery service but also through life skills training, and assisting with personal activities.

Our training and assistance starts with the needs of each person – cooking lessons, budgeting, household tasks, simply DIY – anything that allows someone greater independence and resilience.

Our agile, flexible approach to care and service fits nicely with the aims of the NDIS and we are a recognised NDIS provider.

Meals on Wheels have been a trusted household name for over 60 years, and with good reason. Each year across Australia Meals on Wheels delivers around 14 million meals, by more than 100,000 volunteers, to around 60,000 people. We are the leading home meal provider delivering healthy, nutritional and tasty food to support people living at home.

Our nutritious menu covers the day including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even desert. All meals are delivered to your door in easy to manage portions and containers, ready for the fridge, freezer, or pantry.

Prices range between $3 and $9 per meal. At these prices, you can expect to receive tantalising options like Irish lamb stew, apricot chicken, or roast pork and gravy, with a wide range of menu choices to suit most tastes.

We recognise that food is part of life’s enjoyment, our menu is reviewed regularly to make sure our meals satisfy and deliver health and comfort

Food safety is vital to Eurobodalla Meals on Wheels. All meals are prepared by our HACCP accredited suppliers in a professional kitchen environment by qualified and experienced cooks, who appreciate the importance good nutrition brings as you age or manage disability.

Our suppliers prepare meals guided by the National Meals Guidelines developed by Meals on Wheels and the University of Wollongong.

Your unique dietary needs can also be catered for, with gluten free, vegetarian, blended and soft food options all available.

Meals are available for pick up or delivery and come frozen labelled with heating instructions and dietary information. And there are no sneaky contracts. YOU are in control. YOU can order what you like, and how often you want it.

In a recent independent survey of our clients, 70% of people said their meal delivery “made life easier” and that we empowered them to stay at home (or not die) by providing nutritious meals and social support.

While we are well known for our food, our real strength is our people.

Our approved and trained volunteers deliver more than just a meal. They deliver piece of mind to both the recipients and their loved ones. That’s because each delivery is an opportunity for us to check in on someone, to have a chat, talk to them about their day and if necessary connect them with other support services.

A meal delivery by our volunteers can be the highlight of some people’s day and can help avoid loneliness and isolation.

So as you can see, Meals on Wheels is more than just a meal, and we provide something that you won’t find in the supermarket freezer.
